Dream Design was founded in 1984, creating bespoke cabinetry for discerning clients. Since then, we have grown into one of the UK’s leading interior architecture and design studios.
We are a family-run studio and a close team, creating private residences defined by a calm, resolved and timeless design language. Over the past four decades, we have built close working relationships with specialist manufacturers and collaborators, chosen for technical rigour, consistency of finish and service standards aligned with our own.
OUR HISTORY
Dream Design was founded in 1984 by our Creative Director, Andrew Rizza.
Andrew began his career as a carpenter before moving into joinery and bespoke cabinetry. That early experience shaped the studio’s understanding of design from the inside out: how things are made, how materials behave, and how small details influence the way a home feels over time.
The studio first specialised in wardrobes and fitted cabinetry for local clients, later growing from a workshop in Hinton into kitchens, bathrooms and complete interior projects.
In 2018, Dream Design moved to its current showroom in Christchurch, Dorset. Owning the building allowed us to create more than a display space. It became a physical expression of the studio’s approach: considered, detailed and shaped as a whole.
Today, after 40 years in business, Dream Design works on full home renovations, new builds and one-of-a-kind kitchen and bathroom projects. The values remain the same: care, detail, practical knowledge and a belief that good design should feel peaceful, personal and lasting.
CLIENTS & Projects
Based in Dorset, Dream Design works on private homes across the UK and internationally. Our projects range from coastal houses in Sandbanks and townhouses in London to heritage properties in the Home Counties, with work further afield in Spain, Antigua and Switzerland.
Many of our client relationships continue across successive homes and generations. That continuity reflects the trust built through careful listening, practical experience and a deep understanding of how our clients want to live.
Some clients come to us for a new home or complete refurbishment; others for a highly considered kitchen, dressing room, bathroom or living space. In every case, the aim is to create interiors that feel calm, personal and resolved.
Our expertise spans the whole home, which allows each room to be considered in relation to the next. The layout, materials, lighting, joinery, furniture and finishing details are developed together, ensuring the interior feels coherent rather than assembled in parts.
We guide clients through a process that can otherwise feel complex. Decisions are made in the right order, from the architecture and spatial planning to the detail, specification, procurement and installation.
LIFESTYLE SHOWROOM
Our showroom in Dorset is a full-scale expression of Dream Design’s approach to interior design and spacial planning.
Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living spaces are conceived as part of one wider whole, with furniture, lighting and architectural detailing considered together throughout.
